The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating two fires that occurred Saturday and Sunday in Harford County.
The fires were reported approximately 20 hours apart in a neighborhood in the Willoughby Beach area of Edgewood.
Officials said the incidents do not appear to be related.
Albantowne Way Shed Fire
Crews responded at 11:14 p.m. Saturday to a shed fire in the 3400 block of Albantowne Way in Edgewood, according to a release from the fire marshal.
The 6-by-10-foot wood shed sustained $1,000 in damage. Crews from Abingdon, Joppa and Aberdeen Proving Ground extinguished the fire in 10 minutes.
The cause of that fire, which originated on the exterior of the structure, remains under investigation.
Yost Court Deck and Wood Pile Fire
A deck and a wood pile burned 8:15 p.m. Sunday in the rear of a residence in the 2800 block of Yost Court in Edgewood.
The fire, which was discovered by the owner and did not require a fire department response, caused approximately $1,000 in damage, according to a release from the fire marshal.
The preliminary investigation by the fire marshal's office indicated arson as the cause for the fire.
