PHOTOS: Suspect In Vi Ripken Abduction

Police have released images of Vi Ripken's suspected kidnapper.

UPDATED (6:44 p.m.)—Aberdeen police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to  and said no motive has been determined.

Ripken, 74, was found safely with her hands bound in the back of her car Wednesday after being driven around the Baltimore metro region, police said during a .

police spokesman Lt. Fred Budnick said Thursday afternoon that a motive remains under investigation and that police are still searching for the suspect.

In a statement released earlier Wednesday, Aberdeen police said a man armed with a handgun—described as in his late 30s or early 40s wearing a light colored shirt, camouflage pants and glasses—forced Ripken into her vehicle between 7 and 8 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle fled the area, police said.

Budnick would not identify the source of the images of the suspect, and said that information was pertinent to the ongoing investigation.

Police also released an image of Ripken's car (see photos included with this post) in hopes of finding a resident who happened to see the vehicle during the time in which Ripken was abducted.

A reward is being offered to anyone who submits a tip that leads to an arrest. (See the included PDF file for more details.)
