Police Chase Armed Suspect to His Aberdeen Home

A 19-year-old man ran but couldn't hide from Aberdeen Police after allegedly robbing a Rite Aid.

Aberdeen police have arrested a man they say entered a pharmacy on West Bel Air Avenue and robbed it at gunpoint, taking bottles of prescription medicines early Thursday morning.

Police said that Donald S. Jarvis, 19, of Aberdeen, allegedly entered the and ordered pharmacy employees to surrender specific prescription medications. The suspect was allegedly waving a pellet gun and wearing a hooded sweatshirt and mask during the robbery, according to an Aberdeen Police Department press release.

Police said that the suspect immediately ran from the Rite Aid with the stolen medications. When Aberdeen police arrived at the scene, they said they identified the suspect running across Philadelphia Boulevard.

Police said they chased the man on foot to a home on Aberdeen Avenue, where they entered the residence and arrested the suspect without incident.

Jarvis was charged with armed robbery, robbery, theft and first-degree assault.

Police said they recovered all the medications that were taken during the robbery.
