Two banks were robbed in Harford County between Tuesday and Thursday, Maryland State Police said.
Detectives with Maryland State Police were investigating a bank robbery in north Harford on Thursday afternoon, the second one in the area this week.

At 2:58 p.m. on Thursday, a man entered the First National Bank of Rising Sun on Conowingo Road and showed a note to an employee, who gave him an undisclosed amount of money, Sgt. Comer of the Bel Air barrack said.

The suspect, who did not show a weapon, pocketed the note and money before leaving, according to Comer.

Detectives were continuing to process the crime scene after 5 p.m., Comer said, and the bank in the 3500 block of Conowingo Road was closed.

"It's the second one we’ve had in three days," Comer said of the bank robbery. "The other one we had was in Whiteford two days ago" and the suspect had the "same MO," he said.

The man showed a note, was given money, put the note back back in his pocket and left, Comer said, adding that suspect—who was captured on video—was of a similar description.

That robbery occurred around 2:13 p.m. Tuesday at the PNC Bank in the 2400 block of Whiteford Road, according to The Aegis.

Comer said the two incidents were being investigated as related. In both instances, the suspect was not captured.

Why would anyone rob a bank anymore? There's NO money in them. I made a $20,000 withdraw once and had to go to 3 different banks. Not worth it for a few thousand bucks.

A few thou is still more than the average 7-11 knock-off, not that any of it is right.
