Police: Man 'Tased' After Robbery, Assaulting Officers

A man accused of robbing a gas station was restrained by police on Thursday, Aberdeen police said.

A man allegedly robbed an store early Thursday morning and then assaulted officers while being arrested, police said in a press release Thursday.

Aberdeen police said a man wearing dark clothing and covering the lower half of his face, approached the clerk at the  at 7 North Philadelphia Blvd. and said, "Your money or your life." He then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, the release stated.

Police canvassed the area and found Keone Angelo Givens, who matched a description given by the clerk, according to police. The release stated that "Givens assaulted several members of the Aberdeen Police Department resulting in him being tased and causing property damage and a minor injury to an officer involved."

Givens, 22, of the unit block of Church Green Road in Aberdeen, was charged with robbery, theft and assault, the release stated. Officers were able to recover all of the stolen cash from the robbery, the release stated.
