Police Run Torch Through Aberdeen

Officers from several jurisdictions, including Aberdeen and APG, ran 18 miles for the Maryland Special Olympics.

Local law enforcement officials carried a torch 18 miles across Harford County this week in a demonstration of support for the Maryland Special Olympics.

Officers met Tuesday morning in Havre de Grace to embark on the Torch Run, which raises awareness about the Special Olympics, the organization that sponsors competitions for those with intellectual disabilities.

Approximately 25 members of Harford County law enforcement surrounded the "Flame of Hope" for various legs of the run, which coursed through Aberdeen to Edgewood and ended in Joppatowne.
