Shots Fired Inside Aberdeen Home

On Sunday a man fired shots into the ceiling of an Aberdeen home, police say.

A man was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and charges are pending against him after a shooting incident inside an Aberdeen home Sunday.

Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to a home in the unit block of New County Road to investigate shots fired in the area, according to a release from the Aberdeen Police Department.

When they arrived, officers learned a man inside the home became angry about "several issues" and allegedly fired multiple shots into the ceiling, the release states.

A woman at the home directed officers to an upstairs bedroom where they found the man, whose identity has not been released by police, in bed and a handgun on the floor nearby, according to police.

The man was taken by Aberdeen Fire Department to Harford Memorial Hospital for evaluation. The woman was not injured.

Charges are pending against the man involved, according to police.
