Sobriety Checkpoint Planned for Memorial Day Weekend

In conjunction with the national campaign Checkpoint Strike Force, the Aberdeen Police Department will seek to deter those who drive under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

If your Memorial Day weekend plans include drinking and driving, you might want to rethink them.

The Aberdeen Police Department will set up a sobriety checkpoint on Friday night in an effort to  deter people from driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

“The goal of the campaign is to reduce the number of drunk and drugged drivers on Harford County roadways this weekend,” said Sgt. Albert Severn, checkpoint supervisor. “The Aberdeen Police Department remains committed to ensuring the roadways within our City/County are as safe as possible for the traveling public, there will be no tolerance for people who operate a vehicle while intoxicated or impaired.”
