A teenager was charged with first and second-degree assault Saturday in connection with a stabbing in Whiteford that sent his friend to the hospital, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

At 9:30 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the 4400 block of Slate Ridge Road in Whiteford, where a 15-year-old boy had been stabbed in the abdomen by a 16-year-old boy, the sheriff's office reported.

The two were friends—the 15-year-old had spent the night at the 16-year-old's house, police said. However, they got into a fight, and the 16-year-old allegedly stabbed his friend in the stomach with a knife, according to the report.

The Whiteford Volunteer Fire Company took the 15-year-old to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition Saturday evening, according to police.

The 16-year-old—identified as Alexander Young—was charged as an adult with first and second-degree assault, police said. He was also charged with possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure, according to online court records.

Young's bail was set at $250,000, the sheriff's office reported.

With friends like that, who needs enemies? Here in Lancaster, a friend murdered his best friend and both parents. The daughter was thought by the boy to be at college but she was in her bedroom sleeping so she was spared... The dad of the killer has written a book about how his journey has been going because he is the one who turned his son in..which of course, was the right thing to do.. One never knows what the next minute will bring.
