Man Strips To Boxers, Forces 2 School Lockdowns
Edgewood High School and Edgewood Middle School were locked down Wednesday after a suspicious man was running around the campus.
Two Harford County schools went into lockdown Wednesday after a suspicious man stripped off his clothes and caused a scene on the campus.
The responded to a report of a male possibly under the influence of drugs around 10:01 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Deerfield Elementary School in the 2300 block of Willoughby Beach Road.
Upon arrival, officers witnessed a 34-year-old man wearing only black boxer shorts, according to the police report. The man was seen stripping off the clothes by Harford County Public Schools staff.

Staff said the man was running through the neighboring parking lot at the Edgewood High School and Edgewood Middle School, approaching staff and children and throwing money into the air.
The high school and middle school went into lockdown until the man was taken into custody. He was transported to Upper Chesapeake hospital in Bel Air for evaluations after he was unable to answer simple questions posed by officers.

On behalf of Principals Santos and Brown, I am writing to update you on a situation that occurred on the campus between Edgewood High School and Edgewood Middle School today. This morning, a suspicious male was identified on school property. The administration was made aware and both schools were immediately placed on lockdown as a precaution. The School Resource Police Officer was notified and the suspect was swiftly apprehended and placed into custody. The schools remained on lockdown until the suspect was placed into police custody, at which time normal schedules resumed. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority and we will continue to keep you informed of issues affecting our schools. Thank you for your time and attention.
Edgewood High School, Edgewood Middle School and Deerfield Elementary School are all located on one large campus along Willoughby Beach Road in Edgewood.
As of Thursday afternoon, the man had not been charged.
