Traffic Delays Likely For Officer Armetta Funeral

Aberdeen Police Officer First Class Charles Armetta died Sept. 8.

Police Officer First Class Charles Armetta will be laid to rest Friday.

Traffic delays are likely to occur beginning around 11 a.m. between the location of the funeral in Baltimore County and the interment in Bel Air.

"We ask for your patience and respect during this very difficult time," Aberdeen police said in a statement.

The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Church at 8030 Bradshaw Road in Baltimore County. That will be followed by interment at Bel Air Memorial Gardens at 809 Rock Spring Road in Bel Air. A reception will be held at the Aberdeen Volunteer Fire House at the corner of Rogers and Franklin streets. 

Armetta, a Parkville native, died early Saturday when he in Baltimore.

At the time, Aberdeen Mayor Michael Bennett told Patch: "Nothing but really good memories. We’ve lost a tremendous police officer in the city."

A for Armetta's family. He is survived by his wife, Heather, and 1-year-old daughter, Adrianna.
