An investigation is underway after a three-alarm fire caused $1 million in damage to a Joppa hardware store.
The fire broke out Tuesday evening at Anderson Hardware in the 900 block of Pulaski Highway. Volunteer firefighters were called to the scene around 6:30 p.m.
The state fire marshal and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are working to determine a cause for the blaze, according to a release from the fire marshal's office.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries at the scene. One sustained first- and second-degree burns to the torso and was treated and released. The other suffered a knee injury and is still being treated, according to the release.
