APG Awards Local Contractor Nearly $40 Million

Technical Services LLC signed on for work in Edgewood, Aberdeen and Churchville.

Out of 37 bidders, Aberdeen Proving Ground awarded a contract worth more than $39 million to an Aberdeen operation, the Baltimore Business Journal reported.

Technical Services LLC, located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, received a contract for $39.5 million and was one of five contractors selected recently to perform maintenance, repair and alterations work, according to the journal.

Of the four other contractors that signed on to perform similar work, one was based in Anchorage, Alaska, and the others were from around Maryland, the U.S. Department of Defense reported.

In sum, the contracts awarded for the project totaled approximately $214 million, according to the defense department.

Work includes designing, building, construction and/or renovation at Aberdeen Proving Ground's Edgewood area, Aberdeen area, Van Bibber Treatment Plant and Churchville Test Course, the U.S. Army reported.
