City Council: DPW Awards, Relay For Life

Elaine Bennett, chair of the volunteer group S.M.I.L.E.S., and her niece, Dee Hines, will introduce council and residents to this June's Relay for Life event. The event will be held at Havre de Grace's .

Council will also present awards to the city's water and wastewater staff for reaching 100 percent compliance in 2011.

A legislative session will be held for Ordinance No. 12-0-03, which is an amendment to the city code, under Council Liaisons, found in chapters 30, 61 and 108. The ordinance is up for adoption.

Council will also hear from Matt Lapinsky, director of public works, on a bid for the pool pump filter system renovation.

Pastor Jason Evans of Riverside Community Church will deliver the opening prayer. Councilwoman Ruth Elliott will lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
