Happy 237th Birthday, Army

Aberdeen Proving Ground will hold celebrations Thursday for the Army's birthday.

will celebrate the Army's 237th birthday Thursday with a series of events on the post.

The events will kick off at 6 a.m. with a traditional 3.2-mile birthday run from Fanshaw Field along Aberdeen Boulevard.

At 10 a.m., a group of military re-eneactors will be getting into position to present the Army's story from origin to present. The re-eneactment—set to music from Fort Meade's U.S. Army Field Bank—will be held at Fanshaw Field.

CECOM Commander Maj. Gen.Robert Ferrell will conduct a cake cutting ceremony at the field at 11:30 a.m. Awards and food will be served.
