Harford County Hosting Free Flu Vaccination Clinic

Residents may receive a flu shot or mist treatment Friday afternoon in Bel Air.

Because flu cases continue to rise in Maryland, Harford County is hosting a free vaccination clinic Friday in Bel Air.

The Harford County Health Department announced it would host the clinic from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday in Harford County Council Chambers at 212 South Bond Street.

According to a post on the department website, both injections and FluMist will be avaialble at the clinic.

The announcement said, "On average, more than 200,000 people are hospitalized from flu complications and about 36,000 people die from flu every year in the United States."

Flu cases were heavier than normal in Maryland to start the 2012-2013 season, but cases have skyrocketed since December.
