'High-End' Aberdeen Apartment Complex Moves Forward

Developer of The Colony at Beards Hill said rent would start at $1,400.

The Aberdeen City Council recently approved plans for an apartment complex on Beards Hill Road.

The council gave the green-light to subdivision plans for The Colony at Beards Hill at its Nov. 26 meeting.

Developer Rick Chadsey outlined the project at the meeting, stating it would include the following on the 15.93-acre parcel on Beards Hill Road:

  • 15 mid-rise apartment buildings
  • 192 units total
  • Clubhouse building with cyber cafe and pool

Chadsey called The Colony at Beards Hill a “high-end project" and said it would appeal to “the 25-45 age group that is projected to come into the area from all of the consulting work and so forth through APG.”

Minimum rent would be $1,400, according to Chadsey.

He said The Colony at Beards Hill would be a 12 to 15-month project that he would like to start building by June 2013.
