Weather Decision at APG Alters Schedule

Aberdeen Proving Ground employees were notified of the change Friday morning.

Aberdeen Proving Ground announced at approximately 11 a.m. that it was closed for the day, and gates would remain open.

Original report from 5:50 a.m. Friday.

As a result of the snow storm impacting Harford County, Aberdeen Proving Ground issued the following statement Friday morning:

"Due to the impending inclement weather, Aberdeen Proving Ground will operate under a FOUR-HOUR DELAY with liberal leave in effect for Friday, Jan. 3, 2014.

"This delay applies to both the Aberdeen Area/North and Edgewood Area/South of Aberdeen Proving Ground to include all tenant activities and organizations on the installation.

"With this delayed opening, all non-essential personnel including contractors are to report to their duty location FOUR hours after their regular start time (e.g., if your regular start time is 0800, you will report to work at 1200). Essential personnel should report to work as directed."

Employees were asked to call the APG Snow line at 410-278-7669 for more information or to monitor the APG Facebook page and Twitter feed; and if they needed to reach specific organizations, to call the post operator at 410-306-1403.
