MSA: Aberdeen Middle 'Identified for Improvement' Again
Harford County Public Schools officials say the students made a significant improvement this year.
State test results may indicate that Aberdeen Middle School has some work to do, but Harford County Public Schools officials say its students are making progress.
As a result of reading and math proficiency scores from the , Aberdeen Middle was “identified for improvement." It has been on the list since 2008, longer than any school in the county.
“Although remains on the 2011 Schools in Improvement List, scores increased for nearly every subgroup, including a 30-point increase for ELL students in reading,” a release from Harford County Public Schools stated. “In addition, the math proficiency rate increased for all students from 66 percent to 69 percent.”

MSA tests were first conducted in 2003 to measure students’ progress in relation to the No Child Left Behind Act.
