Aberdeen IronBirds Shut Out in 2013 Opener

The IronBirds fell to the Hudson Valley Renegades Monday night at Ripken Stadium.

The Hudson Valley Renegades used a strong pitching performance and some timely hitting to defeat the Aberdeen IronBirds, 5-0, in the season-opener Monday night at Ripken Stadium.
Aberdeen managed just two hitson the night, a double from third baseman Hector Veloz and a single from catcher Scott Kalush.
Starter Sebastian Vader allowed three runs—two of them earned—on four hits in five innings. 
The Renegades' Jordan Harrison scattered the pair of hits with one walk in six shutout innings. He struck out five.
The same teams meet at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at Ripken Stadium.
