Catching Fly Balls, T-Shirts at Ripken Stadium
Brandon Strong advises IronBirds fans on how to catch free objects.
Visiting friends from Gillette, WY, Brandon Strong came to Ripken Stadium on Saturday to enjoy a baseball game with his 3-year-old son, Tristan.
But the 28-year-old got a little more than he paid for in the third inning.
After a foul ball caromed off the upper deck bleachers, another fan caught the souvenir heading toward Brandon and Tristan. During the next break in the action, though, Brandon got redemption.

A giveaway T-shirt thrown from the field came flying toward the Michigan-born Tigers fan, who casually caught it and gave it to his son.
"It doesn't fit him at all but it looks real good on him," Strong said laughing. "He loves it. ... He'll probably wear it to bed or something."

The father of three played college baseball in North Dakota and has since been coaching. He has some advice for all the IronBirds fans who want to catch a free flying object.
"You got to be at the right spot at the right time," Strong said, "you got to get your head up, and you got to have quick hands."
