TONIGHT: IronBirds Home Opener

The IronBirds are 1-1 entering Wednesday's home opener.

Whether they are 0-0 or 1-1, it doesn't matter.

The open the home portion of the 2012 schedule Wednesday evening at .

Aberdeen won, 8-3, on Tuesday to improve to 1-1 after splitting a pair at the Hudson Valley Renegades.

Eighth-round draft pick Torsten Boss belted a pair of homers to power Tuesday's win.

The opener is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Due West, a country music trio, will perform the National Anthem, and, during the seventh-inning, God Bless America. The Black River Entertainment artists will perform outside the ballpark gates leading up to first pitch.

A team spokesman could not confirm the participant in the ceremonial first pitch.

I started laughing when her injury changed from her knee to her elbow and back.....

I told two of my employees that I had to lay them off yesterday. We all had a good laugh until IRead More told them it was not a joke. I did tell them that it was because of something some evil Republican congressman had done, and that seemed to make them feel a lot better.
