The week ahead includes a couple of large-scale events at Ripken Stadium and a 9/11 memorial walk.

The City Council will take on election laws and several other complex issues at its meeting Monday. See the agenda here.

On Wednesday, Saint Joan of Arc School presents its Freedom Walk, when students, the mayor, APG personnel and others will walk to Festival Park, where the community will break ground for a 9/11 memorial.

The Aberdeen Eagles launch into the second week of play in the UCBAC. See the complete list of games on the schedule.

No, there won't be a bunch of naked people running around Aberdeen. But there will be a lots of runners near Ripken Stadium on Friday, Aug. 13, for the first annual "Streak Thru Aberdeen," which is a 7K honoring Cal Ripken Jr.'s consecutive-games-played streak.

Celebrate the end of the week with Bats and Brews Beerfest, at Ripken Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 14.
