Reviews (2)

****

There are not 7 members in this church! Perhaps the review came from someone who visited around the holidays when many members were vacationing or it is coming from a disgrunted former member. There was a chidren's ministry 3 years ago, but the ministry leader relocated. However, a room on the second floor was recently renovated and the children's ministry is scheduled to start again in June 2012.

Yes, the majority of the members are African American; however, there are also members from the Philippines, Panama and several white members. Contrary to this review, members are compassionately feeding the homeless and poor, celebrating milestones in each other's lives (birthday celebrations).

Women are valued at Word of Life. Recently, the church celebrated mother's day and honored all women. Women serving in many leadership roles in the church and their involvement is valued. The music is mostly gospel, but there is also contemporary music, christian rock and roll on the 4th Sundays.

The church also values the youth. An internet cafe for the youth is scheduled to be started also in June 2012.

The best way for you to make your own judgment is too come and see as Jesus indicated in John 1.

There are approximately 7 members. There is not and never has been child care, music programs, study groups or youth programs. It is a predominantly black congregation with largely southern, country gospel music. Members don't get involved in each other's lives. The pastor doesn't like to minister to women. Scriptural teaching is sound but there's no real demonstration of God's love or character on a consistent basis.
