Those bastards are trying to kill us with cheese!
South Bay Jane April 21, 2014 at 11:46 am
Who cares about cheese? What about all the other animal body parts, poo-poo, dirt, preservativesRead More and other unknown crap that's inside a hotdog?
Bob McBride April 21, 2014 at 11:55 am
They're on the label, Jane, euphemistically or otherwise. Cheese is not. You may say, "WhatsRead More one more artery clogging byproduct of America's agricultural system when considering the whole?", but the US Dept. of Ag. begs to differ. People have a right to know whether they're consuming a cheesy wiener, nor not.

How about correctly identifying the location. Washington Twsp in WHAT COUNTY? Ther's never aRead More dateline for an article here. Remember who what where when and why?

Not all candidates for Maryland governor supported making prekindergarten mandatory.
Brigitta Mullican April 21, 2014 at 09:25 am
This is a useful reference to see how the candidates for Maryland Governor differ. It would beRead More beneficial if voters would educated themselves by reading these comments. Our state certainly has room for improvement when comparing us to other states.
Hope Williard April 21, 2014 at 10:12 am
But we need a Republican Governor to do that.

Those that enjoy amplified off key church bells and off key church piano music have a mentalRead More disorder. And, those that force it onto others are the same that enjoy torturing others.
Lisbeth Allen April 21, 2014 at 11:36 am
She should have the license plate. After all, all the stupid believers in imaginary men with longRead More beards have their silly bumper stickers. Unfortunately, all the brainwashed church goers will probably vandalize her car. Thou shall vandalize.
Cheryl Spinelli April 21, 2014 at 11:44 am
There seems to be a lot of unnecessary anger in many of the posts above. One that jumped out wasRead More that one may "deserve" to be vandalized for their license plate. No one deserves to have any type of crime perpetrated on them. It may well be the outcome because of the bigoted world we live in, but if a young woman puts tacky pink shag decor all over her car, showing the world that a young woman is driving this vehicle, she does not deserve to be attacked. It may be safer to not stand out it that way, but no one "deserves"to be punished for their taste or opinion. Bells ringing, not my favorite, but, if we want total peace and quiet, we may need to relocate to accomplish this. This may not seem fair, but it is realistic. The needs of the many... Imho, the real license plate issue is one of tolerance, or lack therof. There seems to be no profanity or targeted crime of hate going on with this license plate request. We respect and rely on our Freedom of Speech and Religious Choice rights, but we can't have it both ways. It can't be a right only when one agrees with what is being communicated. No one would think of denying a plate that read "Christian". I think people need to take a step back and remember that this is not the kind of request that will negatively impact anyone. You will either agree or disagree and that is the right we all have as Americans. You can agree or disagree with all of the amendments, the call a sports official makes or the grade your kid got on a test. You have the right to discuss your views and try to convince others of your opinion, but censorship is not the answer.

Absoutely!... Mahler's Resurrection Symphony (No 2): a deep. spiritual journeythat ends in trueRead More heaven... and composed by a Jew (this is my take as one, sorry)
jMichael April 20, 2014 at 10:26 am
Good one, Leslie. No one should let this day pass without resolving to know this symphony. It is myRead More understanding that "The Resurrection" compassed by Mahler is not that of Jesus of Nazareth, but rather of us... A vision of our resurrection to an afterlife. It is the affirmation of a resilient and sacred Humanity. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong about this. Regards, jMichael

It has become apparent after 63 years of life that there are a few who would complain about saving aRead More child stuck down a well because it wastes government resources. My principle concern is that the media (TV, Print, Social, et al.) incites the main by pointing out, what we should all already know, that a small number of misanthropes finds ugliness in beauty at every turn.
jMichael April 20, 2014 at 04:04 pm

Don O'Neill April 18, 2014 at 05:24 pm
It sounds as though Senator Catherine Pugh is pining for a job in the private sector. Here is whatRead More she said: 1. “Our government doesn’t move as quickly as the private sector ... and the private sector isn’t moving as quickly as it should be,” Sen. Catherine Pugh, D-Baltimore, said in an interview. 2. “I look at the government from the perspective of a business,” Pugh said. “... What do want the state to look like three years from now? I don’t think we do enough of that kind of thinking and planning.” Let me identify some of the issues that Senator Catherine Pugh and her colleagues in Annapolis should be thinking about on behalf of the citizens of Maryland. 1. Stop pretending that Maryland is the leader in state Health Care web sites. 2. Stop pretending that Maryland is the center of excellence for Cyber Security. 3. Stop pretending that the Chesapeake Bay is clean. 4. Stop pretending that Maryland's soft position on marijuana is supported by its citizens. 5. Stop contemplating the use of fracking. 6. Stop wasting time and money on Bond Bill earmarks. 7. Stop sweeping the Baltimore City prison scandal under the rug. 8. Stop pretending that Maryland is winning the jobs race with Virginia. 9. Stop pretending that Maryland has an adult candidate for Governor. 10. Stop pretending that Governor O'Malley is viable candidate for President.
