Tonight: Eagles Boys Play For Region Final Spot

Aberdeen's boys basketball season is on the line in a road game Monday night.

The Eagles girls aren't the only Aberdeen team still playing in the MPSSA postseason. Aberdeen visits City Monday in a Class 3A North region semifinal. Have photos of the Eagles in action? Post them here.

Eagles Boys Basketball Plays On After Forfeits

Aberdeen High School was forced to forfeit most of its boys basketball wins this year.

Aberdeen lost 11 games Monday alone. Aberdeen Athletic Director Tim Lindecamp and Harford County Athletics Administrator Ken Zorbach confirmed to Patch Monday that the Eagles boys basketball team would forfeit its wins through Feb. 1 after using an ineligible player. But a day after the Eagles' victories had been forfeitted, they forged on, winning Tuesday night against Patterson Mill. The Eagles defeated Patterson Mill, 58-52, on Tuesday at Aberdeen High School. It was a statement victory for Aberdeen—which vacated an 8-1 division mark and 13-4 overall record, but will continue its boys basketball season. Thanks for the comment. I'll have to update the girls team with a story—you're right. That said, while this story does have some negative news included, I did write it from the positive perspective that the team is playing on, not giving up, and they in fact won their first game out after this became public. UCBAC: Eagles Undefeated In Division Play

Aberdeen is undefeated against division opponents in wrestling, boys basketball and girls basketball so far. Check out the standings for the entire conference.

The Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference released updated standings Friday morning and Aberdeen is in great shape. The Eagles are leading their respective divisions with perfect records in girls basketball, boys basketball and wrestling. Bri Jones Named Player of The Year

Bri Jones was honored by UCBAC coaches, while three other Eagles were named all-county by Explore Harford.

The accolades keep rolling in for the Aberdeen girls basketball team. A week after winning the Class 3A state championship, four Eagles were named to the Explore Harford All-County team. Nia Alleyne, T.K. Fowlkes, Lakeia Hayden and Bri Jones were among the student athletes named to the All-Harford first team by Explore Harford. Jones was named the player of the year by the coaches in the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference, according to Varsity Sports Network. According to that report, Alleyne and Hayden were named to the Chesapeake Division first team, with Fowlkes and Jimmia McCluskey being named to the second team.
