Bel Air Braves Host Ripken Series

The Bel Air team is representing Harford County in the Cal Ripken World Series.

When the Bel Air Braves won their district championship game and discovered they would play in the upcoming Cal Ripken World Series, team members said they were overjoyed. "It was overwhelming," catcher Michael Koski said. "We didn't know what to do."  The Bel Air team is representing Harford County in the Ripken Series, which runs from Aug. 12 to 21.  Harford was one of 16 national and international teams that joined in the series' opening ceremony Friday night.  "We're just going to go out there and do our best," Andrew Brndjar, 13, said. "[We're going] to have a good time." Harford fell to the Southeast team 3-0 Saturday afternoon and the Mid-Atlantic team Sunday.
