Jeff Foulk has been named the board of directors president for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County, the organization announced Monday. Foulk, CEO of SURVICE Engineering, has been a board member since 2011, according to a release from the club. He recently served as first vice president for the club. "I look forward to making a difference in the lives of as many young people as possible throughout Harford County by giving them a safe place to go, have fun and grow to become productive, responsible and caring citizens,” Foulk said in the statement. Ravens star cornerback Lardarius Webb was in Aberdeen Monday night, handing out meals and autographs to Aberdeen families before Thanksgiving. Webb made a stop at the Aberdeen Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County less than 24 hours after his teammates defeated the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Webb is currently sidelined with a knee injury. He also hosted a charity softball game in June at Ripken Stadium. Do you have photos from the event? Ravens cornerback Lardarius Webb has made a career of denying opposing quarterbacks and taking from them. Monday night, he'll be in Aberdeen—giving back. Randy Acosta is departing the Boys & Girls Club for a role with the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation.
Randy Acosta is leaving the Boys & Girls Club. In a news release Wednesday, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County announced that their executive director will depart later this month for a role with the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation. "For the past three years, Randy has led our staff and members of the Boys & Girls Clubs with a new level of energy," Club Board of Directors President Tory Pierce said in a statement. “He is a former Boys & Girls Club member himself and when he came to Harford County, he brought with him a needed sense of urgency which allowed him to successfully lead the clubs through a period of growth and change. The Lardarius Webb Charity softball game will be played Sunday in Aberdeen.
You've seen them all on the same field before. Ray Rice. Joe Flacco. Lardarius Webb. But not at Ripken Stadium. And not like this. Webb will host a charity softball game Sunday featuring a number of his Ravens teammates and other Baltimore-area sports celebrities. Buy tickets—at $13 each—here. The game will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County and Baltimore. Flacco's brother—Orioles minor league infielder Mike Flacco—has played at the ballpark. The Aberdeen Family Swim Center opens for the 2012 season on Saturday. The center, managed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County, is located at 615 Old Robin Hood Road in Aberdeen. The pool is open daily beginning Saturday through Labor Day from noon until 8 p.m. on weekends and weekdays beginning at the end of the school year. The pool is open to the public, with seasonal memberships and day passes available. The adults will have burgers. The kids will have steak. Everyone will enjoy a Raven. Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jameel McClain will be the keynote speaker at the March 22 Steak & Burger Dinner. It's the 22nd year for the event, which contributes to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County while recognizing the young people who benefit from the organization. Many of the children may aspire to be like McClain—a veteran linebacker for the Ravens who experienced homelessness earlier in life.
