UPDATE: Conowingo Dam Reopens After Early Morning Crash

At least two vehicles were involved in the wreck on U.S. Route 1, police said.

UPDATE (10 a.m.)—U.S. Route 1 reopened at 10 a.m. after a crash on the Conowingo Dam blocked access early Monday morning, officials said. The road connecting Cecil and Harford was closed to traffic in both directions after a crash at 6 a.m. Monday. The collision involved a car and a truck, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. Volunteers extricated two people and took them to a local hospital, Gardiner said. At least two cars were involved in the wreck on the dam, which carries U.S. Route 1 over the Susquehanna River between Conowingo and Darlington, a Maryland State Police duty officer told Patch. Victim Shot in Perrywood in 'Serious' Condition

Daniel Patrick Morris, 26, was shot after a dispute, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office identified the victim of a Saturday night shooting in Perrywood as a 26-year-old Cecil County man. Daniel Patrick Morris, of Elkton, was in serious condition at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center Sunday afternoon, according to a statement from the sheriff's office. Morris, who was shot in the abdomen, was unable to provide a description of the suspect, officials said. According to the Harford County Sheriff's Office, the shooting followed a dispute that occurred at an apartment complex on the 200 block of Perrywood Court in Perrywood. Authorities were called at 6:20 p.m. for a report of shots fired, Harford County Sheriff's Office spokesman Aaron Stewart said. An acquaintance of Morris took …

Revenue Dips at Maryland Casinos in January

Despite the first full month of 24-hour gambling, revenues declined slightly at the state's casinos.

Casino revenue across Maryland dropped by about $900,000, as the state’s three casinos brought in $44.3 million combined. Hollywood Casino in Perryville pulled in $5,455,111 in January, down from $5,956,140 in December. Revenue at Maryland Live! was essentially flat between December and January; the casino pulled in $35,943,756.19, a decline of just under $100,000 from December. The Casino at Oceans Downs collected $2,928,919.55, down from $3,335,925.98 in December. In sum, Maryland casino revenue generated $14.6 million for operators; the rest goes to the state’s Education Trust Fund, local impact grants, and the horse racing industry.  The breakdown for January was as follows: Maryland Live! began operating round-the-clock at the end of …

UPDATE: Conowingo Dam Opens Gates as Water Level Rises

Seven gates of the dam were open Saturday.

UPDATE (12:50 a.m.)—Conowingo Dam officials said seven gates were open just after midnight Saturday, and they may open up to 10 gates by 8:30 a.m. Two of the dam's 52 gates, which contain the flow of the Susquehanna River, were opened as the water level rose Thursday; they remained open Friday morning. "Drove through the Conowingo Dam Car Wash this morning," one Twitter user said Thursday. "Some serious spray coming over the wall."
