Aberdeen Eagles football player Christian Carpenter will play football at Towson University.
Aberdeen Eagles senior football player Christian Carpenter says he will be a Tiger next season. Carpenter signed to play football at Towson University, approximately 30 miles southwest of Aberdeen, where the Tigers won their first-ever Colonial Athletic Association title in 2011. "It’s been one of my dreams since I was seven or eight years old," Carpenter said about playing at the college level. Carpenter played as a wide receiver and defensive back during his senior year. After only playing six games during his junior year because of a stress fracture in his foot, he had an eye-opening senior season. Carpenter caught 64 passes for 1,112 yards and 14 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the field, he made 148 tackles, caught six …

The North defeated the South, 27-24, in the first ever UCBAC senior showcase game.
North Harford football coach Ken Brinkman knew the first would be the toughest. That's why, when talking with Patch in August about the inaugural Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference senior showcase football game, Brinkman looked to the future. “We just said, let's do something with our kids, with coaches in town, and you’ll get a chance for our kids to play,” Brinkman told Patch. “It’ll be a really good thing in the long-run.” After Sunday's game, the future looks bright. Before a solid crowd at Bobcat Stadium in Bel Air, the North Team defeated the South Team, 27-24, on a last-minute drive, orchestrated by Brinkman's Hawks quarterback Ryan Stinar. Aberdeen's Christian Carpenter (North) and Joppatowne's Jamil Lee (South) were named …

The Aberdeen Eagles outscored the Franklin Indians 19-6 in the second half.
After a slow start in the first half, the Aberdeen Eagles outplayed the Franklin Indians on offense and defense in the second half to win Friday night's 3A North semifinal matchup 32-20. The Indians looked explosive early in the first quarter, scoring first when Reggie Ellis caught a 47-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jackson Thornton. Ellis then picked off quarterback Kenny Faulcon on the Eagles first possession and ran it to the 2-yard line. "We knew they were going to give the ball to [Ian Thomas] and [Reggie Ellis], so we just had to shut them down," said Eagles player Brenton Barnes. When asked about playing at the line of scrimmage he said "it's rough down there, grimy, but I love football." The Indians were not able to get any …

Patch caught up with the wide receiver, who has been a big play machine in 2011.
Meet Christian Carpenter, the Aberdeen Eagles' 6-foot-2, 184-pound wide receiver, who has been making big plays to help his team remain undefeated four games into the season. Patch caught up with Carpenter to talk about school, football and life: Patch: Now that you’re a senior, what’s it like when you’re at school? Christian Carpenter: It is kind of cool. People come up and say ‘hi’ or ‘what’s up,’ and I might now even know them. Patch: Have you played any positions other than wide receiver? CC: I played a lot as a quarterback freshman year. Since I was a sophomore I played free safety, wide receiver and strong safety. They’ve used me pretty good. Patch: How do you train for game day? CC: Every time I go to practice, I practice as hard as…

Quarterback Kenny Faulcon and the offense scored four touchdowns to complete a 36-0 rout of Joppatowne.
In a contest of two undefeated teams, Aberdeen made it look easy with big scoring plays, shutting out Joppatowne, 36-0, on the Mariners soggy turf Friday night. The Eagles are off to a 4-0 start under new head coach Johnny Brooks, who got a win against a team that he struggled with when he was at Havre de Grace. Brooks said he didn't expect a shutout against Joppatowne (3-1), one of three undefeated teams in the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference Chesapeake Division entering the contest. “Joppatowne is tough, and coach [Bill] Waibel does a great job of preparing his kids, and every time we have come down here it’s been a struggle,” he said. “I was expecting a struggle again, but the kids are tough.” Aberdeen and Joppatowne met in …
