Baltimore Man Killed in Route 40 Crash Saturday

The crash near Aberdeen occurred at 12:40 p.m., Maryland State Police said.

Maryland State Police said that a man died in a single-vehicle crash on Route 40 near Aberdeen Saturday afternoon. Joseph Rohrbaugh, 25, of Baltimore, was driving the 1992 black Acura Integra involved in the fatal crash, according to police. Troopers from the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack responded to a collision reported on Pulaski Highway at Mitchell Lane at 12:40 p.m. Saturday. Police said that preliminary investigation indicates Rohrbaugh was driving westbound on Pulaski Highway approaching Mitchell Lane when he lost control of the vehicle, which slid sideways and hit a guardrail abutment. The trooper who responded to that took photos with his phone and sent it to a bunch of people, I have seen it, it is bad. I don't even know Joe and I am sorry for your loss, but felt the family should know the officer is sending pics of the accident and it is horrible.   more ›

UPDATE: Route 40 Reopened after Crash near Riverside

The crash was reported before 1 p.m. Saturday.

UPDATE (4:45 p.m.)—All lanes are clear on eastbound US Route 40 after a fatal crash Saturday afternoon on Mitchell Lane at Pulaski Highway. The Aberdeen Police Department said at 12:42 p.m. that there was a crash requiring a rescue, advising drivers to expect delays and exercise caution in the area. At 1:03 p.m, the Maryland Department of Transportation reported that all eastbound lanes of Route 40 had been shut down between MD Route 543 and Spesutia Road for investigation after a collision.

Police Identify Prospect Road Crash Victims

All five occupants of the Mazda that crashed Saturday night were Harford County residents.

Three Harford County residents in their early 20s were killed Saturday night in a crash on Prospect Road, according to Maryland State Police. Two others were taken by helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma. Police said preliminary investigation indicated Tyler G. Anderson, 21, of Jarrettsville was driving a 2008 Mazda 3 eastbound on Prospect Road when he lost control of the vehicle, which went off-road, became airborne, hit a tree and broke in half upon impact. A passerby reported seeing a vehicle off the road on MD Route 646 (Prospect Road) near Mill Green Road at 11:29 p.m., according to police. Read more here. — — UPDATED (6:10 a.m.)—Three people were killed and two others were injured when their vehicle went off a road in northern Harford County, hit a tree and broke in half Saturday night. The single-vehicle accident took place near the intersection of Prospect and Mill Green roads near Street, just before 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
