Route 136 Shut Down for Fatal Thursday Morning Crash

Traffic was closed for a crash investigation before 7 a.m. Thursday in the Churchville area.

UPDATED (9:20 a.m.)—MD Route 136 was closed to traffic Thursday morning after a serious crash in the Churchville area and may remain closed until noon. One person was killed in the crash, WBAL and ABC 2 News are reporting. The crash, which occurred on the 300 block of Priestford Road, left at least one person with "grave injuries," according to Rich Gardiner, spokesperson for the Harford County Fire & EMS Association. One person was taken by land to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center after the two-vehicle crash, according to The Baltimore Sun. UPDATE: Conowingo Dam Reopens After Early Morning Crash

At least two vehicles were involved in the wreck on U.S. Route 1, police said.

UPDATE (10 a.m.)—U.S. Route 1 reopened at 10 a.m. after a crash on the Conowingo Dam blocked access early Monday morning, officials said. The road connecting Cecil and Harford was closed to traffic in both directions after a crash at 6 a.m. Monday. The collision involved a car and a truck, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association. Volunteers extricated two people and took them to a local hospital, Gardiner said. At least two cars were involved in the wreck on the dam, which carries U.S. Route 1 over the Susquehanna River between Conowingo and Darlington, a Maryland State Police duty officer told Patch. Detours Set For Route 715, Route 40 Interchange

Traffic will be detoured in Aberdeen near the Aberdeen Proving Ground main gate.

A major intersection in Aberdeen will undergo a series of detours overnight into Friday morning, Aberdeen police said. From 9 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday, a series of changes will take place at the intersection of U.S. Route 40 and MD Route 715—the interchange near the main gate for Aberdeen Proving Ground. Winter Weather Advisory In Effect Early Monday

The advisory lasts from 5 a.m. until noon in much of Maryland.

Much of Maryland—from the D.C. metro area to the Baltimore suburbs—is under a winter weather advisory Monday morning. The advisory is in effect from 5 a.m. until noon in Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard and Montgomery counties, as well as Baltimore City, the National Weather Service announced Sunday afternoon. Temperatures are expected to be in the high 20s by midday, but morning commuters may encounter freezing rain mixed with sleet and possibly snow, according to the advisory. Only a trace of accumulation is expected. Winds from the south will gust to 10 to 15 mph, the advisory said. The precipitation "will cause travel difficulties," the advisory said. 2 Tractor Trailers Overturn In Aberdeen

Both happened on ramps along MD Route 22 Friday morning.

UPDATED: Find an updated version here. _____ Emergency personnel are dealing with two overturned tractor trailers in Aberdeen. The separate incidents occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 10 pm., according to the Harford County Fire & EMS Association. The first accident took place on the ramp from eastbound MD Route 22 to eastbound U.S. Route 40, according to association spokesman Rich Gardiner. He said there were no injuries, but the crash closed the ramp. In a post on the association's Twitter account just before 10 a.m., Gardiner said another accident involving an overturned tractor trailer happened on the access road along southbound Interstate 95 at the MD Route 22 interchange. Light Fixed, Route 22 Reopened After Crash in Aberdeen

The crash happened before 9 a.m. Thursday, closing eastbound MD Route 22.

UPDATE (10:15 p.m., Jan. 15)—A traffic light has been repaired and traffic was flowing normally Tuesday evening, about 12 hours after a crash snarled traffic on MD Route 22 in Aberdeen. — Update as of noon: The incident on MD Route 22 at Middleton Road in Aberdeen has been cleared as of 11:30 a.m., according to the Maryland Department of Transportation. — The following article was published at 9 a.m. and updated at 9:45 a.m. Eastbound MD Route 22 is closed at Middleton Road for an accident and westbound traffic is getting by at a slow pace. Morning Crash in Joppa Sends 1 To Hospital

The crash took place just before 8 a.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 40 in Harford County.

One person was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview hospital after an accident on U.S. Route 40 in Joppa Thursday morning. The collision took place around 7:44 a.m. on Dec. 27 near the intersection of eastbound Pulaski Highway and Joppa Road, according to a release from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company. All lanes of eastbound Route 40 were closed for approximately 25 minutes. According to the release, Joppa-Magnolia medic transported the patient to Bayview in serious but stable condition. Another patient refused treatment, the statement said. Maryland State Police are investigating the cause of the crash, according to Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
