Lardarius Webb Charity Softball Game Scheduled for June

You Tell Us: Which players would you love to see swing for the fences in Aberdeen?

The date has been set, but who is—and more importantly—who do you want, to see show up? The fourth annual Lardarius Webb Charity Softball Game will be played on June 2 at 4:30 p.m. at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen. Money raised from the game benefits underprivileged schools in Baltimore City and Harford County.  "Over the past three years, The Lardarius Webb Metropolitan Foundation has worked closely with The Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Baltimore and The Boys and Girls Club of Harford County to improve their learning environments, provide Internet/computers to children's schools in need, and create unforgettable experiences for all," reads the latest release about the game.  Regarding unforgettable experiences, who could forget Ravens…

Child, Cancer Survivor Donates Toys to Aberdeen Homeless Center for Kids

William S. James Elementary School second grader Grace Callwood is currently in remission.

There is scientific evidence that supports doing good deeds could lead to longer, healthier life. William S. James Elementary School second grader Grace Callwood put that theory to the test. Callwood is currently in remission following a two-plus-year bout with cancer. Her recovery can be attributed in large part to amazing doctors and a fighting spirit, although a little charity from a little girl could've played a huge role. While fighting her cancer, Callwood donated many of her personal toys, books and games to children at the Harford Family House, a shelter for homeless families and children.
