Legends of the Fog Features New Scares

The haunted attraction has changed more than 90 percent of its setup in the past two years, according to its producer.

Visitors to Legends of the Fog are in for a surprise, even if they have been there before.

"Guests that haven't been to Legends of the Fog in the last two years will see more than 90 percent change," Legends of the Fog Producer Patrick Barberry told Patch this week.

During the off-season, two signature features of the haunted campus off Carsins Run Road went through major renovations—"Carsins Manor" and "Sinister Circus."

Carsins Manor, which is designed to look like an abandoned orphanage, "more than doubled in size" and includes "high-detail scenic design and new scares," Barberry said.

Elsewhere on the 100-acre campus, visitors will find a funhouse called "Sinister Circus" that has been overhauled, according to Barberry. He described it as a "haunted house rendition of a dust-bowl era traveling circus filled with spectacles and oddities that you would've seen during that era, with a bit of a twist."

On top of expanding and enhancing Carsins Manor and Sinister Circus, the third offering at Legends of the Fog—a haunted hayride—offers new surprises this year as well.

The route has been changed and the trail upgraded, according to Barberry, who said that Legends of the Fog added a new scare barn for 2013, in addition to two others that were added in 2012.
