A major intersection in Aberdeen will undergo a series of detours overnight into Friday morning, Aberdeen police said.
From 9 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday, a series of changes will take place at the intersection of U.S. Route 40 and MD Route 715—the interchange near the main gate for Aberdeen Proving Ground.
Those changes, Aberdeen police said, include:
- Westbound U.S. Route 40 traffic toward southbound MD Route 715 will detour left onto MD Route 7
- Eastboound U.S. Route 40 traffic toward southbound MD Route 715 will detour right onto MD Route 7
- Northbound MD Route 715 traffic toward eastbound U.S. Route 40 will detour right onto Old Philadelphia Road
- Northbound MD Route 715 traffic toward westbound U.S. Route 40 will detour left onto Old Philadelphia Road
- Hickory Drive traffic toward westbound U.S. Route 40 will detour left onto MD Route 7
The detours come amid a significant construction project at the intersection.
