Aberdeen Police: Man Wrestles Gun From Teenage Robbers

Two Aberdeen teens and one from Baltimore were charged following the attempted armed robbery on Wednesday.

Three teenage males were arrested and charged with the attempted armed robbery of a 20-year-old man in Aberdeen Wednesday.

Police said three teens—including two from Aberdeen—were charged following an incident, around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Holloway Lane. One of the males confronted the victim while showing a black firearm to the man, who was near his vehicle.

Police said the victim was able to wrestle the weapon away from the suspect. The three males then began assaulting the victim, who was able to run away.

A description of the suspects was given to police, and officers arrested the three males in the area of North East Road.

Arrested were Kenneth C. Gunthrop Jr., 17, of the 1300 block of Lester Morton Court in Baltimore, Andrew K. Nixon, 16, of the 300 block of South Drive in Aberdeen and Kenya D. McCraney, 19, of the 300 block of Steven Circle in Aberdeen, according to a news release from Aberdeen police.

The teens were each charged as adults, with violations including attempted armed robbery, handgun in commission of a crime and second-degree assault, according to the Aberdeen police release. The suspects were at the Harford County Detention Center Thursday morning, police said.
