The Fourth of July fire in Aberdeen was caused by fireworks, according to a report from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

Harford County fire crews quickly extinguished a Fourth of July fire on the roof of the Aberdeen Ollie's store.

Just after 10 p.m. on Thursday, crews from Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Company reported to the Aberdeen Shopping Plaza off West Bel Air Avenue for the report of a fire.

The one-alarm fire was put out quickly, and no injuries were reported, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesperson for the Harford County Fire & EMS Association. The fire did not reach the interior of the building, Gardiner said.

The info was confirmed in a Facebook post by Fire & EMS Association spokesperson Jennifer Chenworth Price.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office reported the cause of the blaze to be fireworks launched from behind the building, according to ExploreHarford.com

No suspects were caught following the incident, which caused approximately $9,000 in damage, the report stated.
