APG To Conduct Large Detonations This Week

Aberdeen Proving Ground will be the source of large detonations.

will be the source for large detonations likely to be heard throughout the Harford County area this week.

The following message was sent Sunday afternoon from the county's emergency operations center:

"Good Afternoon this is Emergency Manager Rick Ayers with an important message. The test center will be conducting several large detonations that will occur between Monday and Friday of this week. Although, the detonations will be heard in the County there is no reason for alarm. Thanks and have a great afternoon."

Aberdeen Proving Ground conducts regular testing through the U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center (ATC), which directs anyone with questions to call 410-278-1147 or 800-688-8705.

Testing may be rescheduled in the event of poor weather conditions, according to ATC.
