Sign Up For Aberdeen Rec Baseball, Softball

Less than 200 players have signed up for youth baseball and softball as of Friday.

Aberdeen Parks and Recreation baseball and softball needs you.

As of Thursday night, there were less than 100 players signed up for the program, which has space for players from tee-ball through ages 13-15.

The official sign-up period is over. However, Dan Augustyniak, a parent volunteer, is holding an extra sign-up Saturday. Augustyniak will be at the on Middleton Road from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with registration forms.

Registration costs $40.

"Beyond that, I am willing to meet any evening at the Parks and Rec building with notice," Augustyniak wrote in an email to .

Augustyniak said eight years ago, when his son began playing, the program had more than 500 participants. Last year, about 200 participated.

"I am trying every outlet to spark interest and participation," Augustyniak said.
